Sprung Hip Hop Festival Drops Its Lineup
The
Sprung Hip Hop Festival has dropped its lineup for 2012, which includes some of the best local hip hop talent that Australia has to offer.
2011 was the inaugural year for the festival, with Queenslanders lapping up the urban event and making it an instant success. This year the festival returns bigger and stronger with Adelaide favourites The Hilltop Hoods topping the list. Other notable names include Melbourne MCs Pez
and ILLY, along with notorious rapper Emsee Kerser, who’ll be plying his trade while showing off
his snazzy new face tattoo.
The rest of the bill, announced via triple j this afternoon, includes Tzu, Vents, Spit Syndicate, Seth Sentry, Mantra, Thundamentals, BiasB, The Tongue, Briggs, Evil Eddie, Bam Bam, Mase N Mattic, Seven, Deathstarrs, Dwizofoz and Kudos. Notable absentee 360
was approached to play the festival, but turned down the opportunity due to recording commitments - leaving us wondering about the sparks (or even bullets) that would have flown between him and Kerser.
The Sprung Hip Hop Festival is an all ages event and will be held at RNA Showgrounds in Brisbane on November 10. Tickets are on sale July 6.
