Scurrilous Rumours for Future Music Festival 2013
All these lineup announcements have been pretty distracting, particularly as quite of few have been a tad lack-lustre (bar
Soundwave,
Harvest and
Meredith announcements). That’s why a promise of an ‘All-Stars’ bill for Future Music in 2013 had us a bit edgy.
Last week the festival teased fans with a status reading: ‘1,000 'LIKES' and we might just announce one of the Future Music Festival 'All-Stars' for March 2013 for you tomorrow ... Sound fair?’ Unfortunately for 2400 fans who did like the post, Future didn’t make good on their promise. But we have a feeling that now the dust has settled a little on facebook, they’re beginning to trickle out a few names.
In the last 24 hours, we’ve seen
Future Music Festival’s facebook page and
website news feed flood with stories about M.I.A, Deadmau5, the Prodigy, and Knife Party. Mentions of Breakbot, the Chemical Brothers, Fake Blood, Skrillex, Boys Noize and Paul Kalkbrenner have also been making an appearance over the last week. Are the Future guys indirectly serving up their lineup? We freaking hope so.
But that’s not all. Currently sitting on the Future website’s ‘spotlight’ is Mr. Frank Ocean and his debut record
Channel Orange. Considering he pulled out of their line up earlier this year, it’s not out of the realm of possibility. We can’t even… let’s not jinx it, okay? Everyone just cross your limbs and pray. It’s like the Secret, if we believe, it’ll happen.
With the same reasoning, perhaps Mark Ronson will be joining us after his stint at the Olympics too. We can dream, right?
Future Music Festival will take place across the country in March 2013. Dates and venues are yet to be announced.
