Even if we are only 16 days into this calendar, the rest of the year's got something to live up to after the announcement of the greatest news we've heard so far:
New Order are answering our sideshow prayers with Melbourne and Sydney shows in early March.
Many said that the band that formed after the death of Ian Curtis was destined to fail, but haters couldn't have been more wrong with the post-Joy Division New Order being one of the most influential bands of our time. Amongst the first to successfully merge rock and electronic music, their track '
Blue Monday' (that even the most blissfully unaware have heard) is still the biggest selling 12-inch single of all time.
Many a tear was shed when we heard these legends of the music world were to co-headline Future Music Festival - these were tears of despair as well as joy, with many fans attending Golden Plains destined to miss out. Thankfully, unlike the Parklife lineup, Future have answered our prayers and allowed some special sideshows in cities where the festival is being held.
Tickets are on sale Monday 23 January with show dates below:
Thursday 1 March - Festival Hall, Melbourne
Wednesday 7 March - Horden Pavilion, Sydney
We're also giving away double passes to Future Music Festival, so maybe (if you're just lucky enough), you'll get to see New Order on us. Check out the
Members' Lounge for details.
