In news just in from the Dept. of 'Really?
WHO?!? NO way!' comes the announcement that Hanson are touring.
Hanson.
These guys:
A mere 15 years after their ubiquitous hit album
Middle of Nowhere spawned the single that redefined bubblegum pop, the brothers Hanson are back. So just how ubiquitous was that hit? This morning's press release states that in 1997, one in ten Australian households had a copy of the album. Think about that for a minute. ONE in TEN houses. In the whole country. Had a copy of the Hanson album. So we're going to assume that since some of you will have lived in some of those houses, this is kind of a big deal.
While it's easy to be cynical about an announcement like this (especially in the wake of tours by SClub7, Aqua, Backstreet Boys etc etc) Isaac, Taylor and Zac Hanson aren't reforming: apparently they've never stopped making music (but they did start
making beer).
On the back of their forthcoming longplayer
Shout It Out, Hanson will do a string of September shows around the country, with tickets on sale Thursday, April 12. Of course, if you're part of the fan club, you can get them from April 5.
