Cake are Coming to Australia
It's been seven long years since Cake
last visited Australia, but we can expect a return later this year.
An hour ago the Californian alt-rockers posted one simple sentence on their Facebook page:
CAKE will return to Australia in November...
Could they be part of the much-anticipated Harvest lineup, to be announced later today?
Established in the early '90s, Cake are best known for their ironic, often sarcastic lyrics, and the deadpan vocals of lead singer John McCrea. They found great success with tracks such as 'The Distance' and 'Short Skirt/Long Jacket', and a catalogue influenced by genres as diverse as country, Mariachi, rock, funk, hip-hop and Iranian folk music.
Their seventh studio album, Showroom of Compassion,
was released in 2011 after a six-year hiatus, during which they built their own solar-powered studio in Sacramento where the LP was produced.
