It’s difficult to sit on the sidelines and read about the epic double headline shows that roll regularly through Europe and the US. Many Australian rock fanatics considered mortgaging their homes and quitting jobs just to afford to be a part of Kiss and Motley Crue's US tour, but happily, we can report that won't be necessary.
That’s right. As
we predicted back in January, it's happening. The boys (/men/grandpas) of Kiss and Motley Crue are heading to Australia to bring us what they’ve modestly named ‘The Tour’. Having just confirmed their appearance at the 2013 Clipsal 500 in Adelaide, their full itinerary will be divulged in five days (Wednesday 14 November). The confirmation originally came from Crue drummer Tommy Lee
via his Facebook page in September, which stated he’d be “taking a little break til Jan 2013 then off to Australia with Kiss n Motley”.
It’s sometimes difficult to watch your rock ‘n’ roll icons on the wrong side of their heyday. No-one wants to see washed up rock gods struggle to hold a guitar upright, let alone unleash a scream. Fortunately, this is no concern for Kiss and the Crue. Despite decades of high profile partying and run ins with the law, both bands still know how to put on one helluva show, as anyone who saw the insane explosions-blood-and-platform-boots 2008 Kiss tour will attest. As for
Motley Crue, their last tour precisely one year ago (alongside Poison's Bret Michaels and Doc Neeson from the Angels) was a 101 in stadium rock ecstasy.
Prepare for the greatest rock 'n' roll show on Earth.
