The
Sydney Morning Herald Half Marathon is back in 2012 and applications are now open. Taking place on May 20, the 21.1km single lap course weaves its way through the iconic Sydney cityscape and provides participants with a visually-pleasing tour of some of the city's notable landmarks (like the Jones Bay Road roundabout and toilet facilities on Argyle St).
The goal this year is to raise one million dollars for over 600 charities, including the
Breast Cancer Network Australia. Upon signing up, you can rally your closest pals to sponsor you and your chosen charity - tax deductable, you can tell the ones with light pockets.
If last year's stats are anything to go by, you'll have less than 0.01% chance of placing first in the marathon but a 100% chance of contributing to charitable goodness. That's a 500% chance of fun (give or take)! The truth is in the numbers, people.
Early bird prices start at $92 for adults, but the discount prices will finish fast. To enter, visit the
Sydney Half Marathon website.
