The Side Events of Semi-Permanent
If you’re one of those brilliant creative design types we’re sure you’ve heard about Sydney’s Semi-Permanent by now, and if you haven’t you must be too busy being, well… creative. Either way, you’d better fill yourself in quick ‘cos it’s on this Friday and Saturday.
While the conference itself is jampacked with a whole host of super talented speakers covering all aspects of design - including Benja Harney, Bec Parsons, The Monkeys & Roman Coppola to name a few - we think the side events are pretty swell too. And that’s not just the Saturday night after party at The Standard (free drinks, free bands, woo!).

The Semi-Permanent Masterclass Sessions
Thursday 10 May, CATC Design School
Session 1: 10:30 – 12am, Session 2: 3:30 – 5pm
Semi-Permanent, in conjunction with CATC Design School, introduces two masterclass sessions with Semi-Permanent speakers. For the presenters it is a way to interact more intimately with the audience, while the audience gains insight into the wonderful works of two super talented creatives. This time round the participating speakers are Meirion Pritchard from Wallpaper Magazine, and Florian Schmitt of Hi-Res!
Semi-Permanent After Party
Saturday 12 May, The Standard @ Lofi
The Semi-Permanent after party is, as the name suggests, the event after party. Presented this year in association with Box Fresh, the party will include bands, DJs and live painting by talented artist Saxon Shing. It’s a pretty neat way to end another year’s event, so put down your pen and shut your Mac this weekend in favour of partying with your fellow creatives.
