Hold on to your tassles! Sydney is getting rouged up for some burlesque nights in January.
Straight from London's West End,
Miss Polly Rae and her Hurly Burly girls are bringing their all-bits-shimmying, all-thigh-flashing, all-nipple-acrobatics cabaret to Australia for the first time. Cheeky in more ways than one, The Hurly Burly Show is an erotic cocktail of all things sensuous, spectacular and funny.
Although the musical show is studded with live, revamped tunes from Madonna to the Pet Shop Boys, Miss Polly Rae is determined to keep the original glitz of burlesque at the heart of it all. "I looked to Tempest Storm (original queen of burlesque in the '50s and '60s) in particular when we were coming up with the choreography for it, because I wanted this particular routine to be really traditional and really authentic," she said. "It's pure, raw burlesque bump and grind dance routine".
