Denim and leather. Sounds like a bit of a fetish party, right? Whilst Thursday night's launch of new fashion label, McQueens Denim, had a vaguely suggestive dress theme, the result was anything but seedy. Yet grunge was definitely still the theme of the nigh. Think a disused warehouse basement for a pop-up bar, a crowd of young hipsters decked in slashed denim shorts, and boxes of New York slice style pizza.
Highlights included a live performance by The Patron Saints, a rather special gold backpack and an oversized make-shift blackboard which guests were invited to write upon in white pens and chalk. (Russh Magazine had their name converted into the word "Thrussh" by a clever bystander. Best. Ever.) And then there was the denim: fun, sophisticated and surely enough to have made the late Steve McQueen proud.
